Congratulations to the First Cohort of MA Graduate Students in the Nonprofit Leadership Online Programs!

We are excited to share that the first cohort of master’s students from the Nonprofit Leadership Online Programs will be graduating this Spring! After two years of rigorous coursework, engagement, and dedication, four graduates are set to receive their degrees in recognition of their hard-earned accomplishments. Our Spring 2025 graduates include JoAnn Bastien, Marissa Ogea, Alexa Delon, and Andrea VanLaan.

The Nonprofit Leadership, Global Cultures, and Social Enterprise M.A. online program prepares and empowers non-profit leaders to tackle local and global challenges through an ethical lens while building intercultural competence and knowledge of human and ecological systems.

JoAnn Bastien is the Director of Operations at Ss Peter and Paul Jesuit Church in Detroit, Michigan. A position that she has held for almost one year. JoAnn’s responsibilities include building operations, human resources, and she is the liaison to the Pope Francis Center and University of Detroit Mercy Law School. JoAnn recently started a podcast to tell the stories of nonprofits and social justice. Check it out on YouTube!

After graduation, Marissa Ogea will continue her current role at the Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan as their Development Coordinator. She is considering pursuing further education in law but will enjoy the nice break from homework in the meantime. Alexa Delon will continue working as a litigation paralegal in Chicago after graduation. Hopefully in 3-4 years, Alexa will go to law school.

“I am wholeheartedly appreciative for the Nonprofit Leadership Online Program—not only for the education it provided, but also for the unwavering support and valuable connections offered by each professor throughout my academic journey. In the short term, I hope to secure a position where I can apply the skills I’ve gained in this program. Looking ahead, I am committed to continuing my work in refugee and immigration services, with the aim of making a lasting impact in the field.” Andrea VanLaan

Congratulations to all our graduates!
